Life—Juggling Five Balls

Posted: March 30, 2012 by Mike Chilewe Jnr in Success Corner

Sorry been quite for a while guys,
Any way I just got engaged to my Sweetheart Ellen and I am one of the happiest men right now cause it’s a dream come true.

I am now back to active blogging and I wanted to share with you a little piece of a speech that was made by the former CEO of Coca cola Bryan Dyson

The SPEECH

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.

Work efficiently during office hours and leave on time. Give the required time to your family, friends and have proper rest. Value has a value only if its value is valued.”

I sat down and started to wonder about the people around me and noticed that we have very special and unique people. I researched more on Indians and how they literally make huge sums of money while we either try to start our own business and fail OR how we just continue to work for someone. I have compiled some things you may want to look at to actually find out the “Indians Formula for Making Millions of Money”. Okay so here we go:

 1)      Believe & Faith

One of the most important things I noticed about Indians is their Read the rest of this entry »

It really annoys me when I buy myself some airtime and convert it in to internet bundles for browsing the web & it actually gets finished so fast before I even complete what I was working on (I see your having this problem as well). At the moment internet is quite expensive to manage in Malawi and I have recently thought of a few ways on which we could try to save our expenses and actually get to finish the work we started on the internet.

Well, it actually matters with what you are doing on the internet. There are people who just like to browse the internet (Facebook, twitter, yahoo…etc) and then they are people who love to download things. Well I’m going to focus on the people who like to Read the rest of this entry »

When you are a child you always think you have everything all figured out on how you will end up. You ask a kid what they want to be they will say things like I want to be a pastor or the president or a teacher, but when you are an adult reality just isn’t that cut out clear.

So now how do you make sure when you are done with your final paper of school you are ready for the many career choices that await you? Well depends on your personality that is what i believe, because most people make the mistake of doing something they dont like because they believe that career choice will make them wealthier in the future, wrong it wont.

It will only make you miserable, and if you are miserable you will do task heavyhearted  and if you Read the rest of this entry »

First Impression….Selling Yourself

Posted: January 31, 2012 by Mike Chilewe Jnr in Success Corner

Look at the picture above of two guys in some buggy jeans, if these guys came to your office and you were hiring and told you they have come cause of the Accounting Vacancy you advertised…would you hire them?….You answer is as good as mine

It takes a very good marketer or say sales person to sell me something..Not that I am just a difficult person but I have grown to differentiate between a good deal and a bad one

I always appreciate the fact that when I am parting ways with my Hard earned Kwacha it should be worth it…..Be careful with this approach, don’t just be hard on anything!

In this World that we are living in, most of the times we sell perception then the product that you are selling, I want to talk about how you can Read the rest of this entry »

Failure

Aren’t you tired of failing to up bring a product/service on the market or you are now just trying to figure out if you should  maintain your current job. Well, don’t give up on yourself just yet. Failing is a sign of your every step to success, the more you fail, the more you learn from your mistakes.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

I ran into an old friend who is currently an executive of a mid-sized company and he doesn’t like his current job but has always wished to start his own business. This guy has been working on his business plan for approximately 3 years now and hasn’t produced anything productive. I did myself a favour and asked him why he had not yet ventured in to business. This is what he said Read the rest of this entry »

Well, lately most of the Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) have noticed that the internet has become very vital to a lot of people in this country. This has also increased the number of Internet Service providers in the country & the rates are really expensive.

Why are you still paying for Internet?

The main reason we can’t restrain ourselves from the Internet is because almost everything we do nowadays rotates online. You can mention it:

  • Marketing
  • Social Networking
  • Buying & Selling and many more…

What trick are they currently using?

It’s quite simple actually. They have developed a Read the rest of this entry »

BE FIRST OR BE LAST……2012

Posted: January 28, 2012 by Mike Chilewe Jnr in Success Corner

The first Month of the year is almost over…I can just say it’s now over…Simple question that you have to ask yourself “What have I achieved in the first month of the year?

When starting the new year a lot of people make resolutions, almost everyone does, but it has been proven that most of the resolutions are broken just after two weeks, like say for example if someone makes a resolution that they want to lose weight, they do exercise and eat well for just two weeks after that they go back to their old ways ….ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?

In whatever you do, in every business that you venture into today, one thing that you have to make sure you do is being committed to whatever you have planned and not being in the group of failing after only two weeks or a few months.

The famous Billionaire Donald Trump wrote in his book “Thinking like a billionaire” that he goes to sleep at 11pm and wakes up at 4.30am to read the newspapers and plan his day, he says that’s why he is one of the Best cause he is committed to what he has set, and it helps him to be ahead of others because when most of us are waking up and planning for the day, he is busy Read the rest of this entry »
